Abstract: Objective To explore the method of nursing care with partial splenic embolization (PSE) of hypersplenism on liver cirrhosis. Methods Total of 183 cases were given PSE with Seldinger technique, and careful nursing care were given before and after operation. Results After operation, white blood cells, platelet count of all cases gradually increase to normal level. The rate of pain in spleen, fever and ascite were 97.81%, 86.34% and 15.85%, respectively, which returned to normal after two weeks, and serious complications such as splenic abscess did not appear. Conclusions PSE for liver cirrhosis patients with spleen function hyperthyroidism was a safe method with significant curative effect. Assessing the patients’condition carefully and control indications strictly before operation, paying attention to observation and nursing care can decrease the complications.
