Abstract: Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics and prognosis of liver failure caused by
anti-tuberculosis drugs, and to discuss the nursing strategy. Methods The clinical data of 22 patients with
anti-tuberculosis drug induced liver failure were collected and clinical characteristics, complications and
prognosis were analyzed retrospectively. Results The mainly onset age of the anti-tuberculosis drug induced
liver failure was young and middle-aged, and the proportion of females was higher than that of males. Ten of
the 22 cases with anti-tuberculosis drugs induced liver failure improved and discharged, 12 cases were dead
and the mortality rate was 54.5%. The common complications included ascites, hepatic encephalopathy,
liver and kidney syndrome, and upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Conclusions The prognosis of liver failure
caused by anti-tuberculosis drugs is poor, and the mortality is high. It is significant to take appropriate
nursing measures for the treatment and prognosis of liver failure caused by anti-tuberculosis drugs.
