Abstract: Objective To investigate the relationship between serum levels of IL-2, IL-4, IL-10 and IFN-γ and
hepatic tissue pathology in patients with chronic hepatitis B. Methods Total of 90 cases with chronic hepatitis
B (CHB) in Gezhouba Central Hospital from January 2010 to December 2015 were selected. All patients were
underwent liver biopsy and the serum levels of IL-2, IL-4, IL-10 and IFN-γ were detected. The relationship
between the above indexes and hepatic tissue pathology were analyzed. Results The number of patients with
CHB in G1~G4 stage were 24, 23, 21 and 23, respectively. The serum levels of IL-2, IL-4, IL-10 and IFN-γ
in patients with different hepatic inflammatory activity were statistically different (F = 42.6, 58.2, 52.3, 36.2;
P = 0.006, 0.005, 0.007, 0.008), and were negatively related with hepatic inflammatory activity (r = -0.596,
-0.609, -0.632, -0.621; P = 0.007, 0.006, 0.005, 0.006). The number of patients with CHB in S 1 ~S 4 stage
were 25 cases, 25 cases, 20 cases and 20 cases, respectively. The serum levels of IL-2, IL-4, IL-10 and IFN-γ
in patients with different liver fibrosis stage were statistically different (F = 53.2, 58.7, 56.2, 35.5; P = 0.006,
0.005, 0.007, 0.008), and were negatively related with liver fibrosis stage (r = -0.625, -0.608, -0.643, -0.632;
P = 0.007, 0.006, 0.008, 0.007). Conclusion The serum levels of IL-2, IL-4, IL-10 and TFN-γ in patients with
CHB were negatively related with hepatic inflammatory activity and liver fibrosis stage.
